Optimizing

The Digital Frog will work best on the Mac under the following conditions:

  • 8 MB of available RAM or more
  • Virtual Memory off
  • File sharing off
  • All extensions other than QuickTime off

Networking

The Digital Frog 2 does not ship with a license to run on a network. A network license must be purchased from Digital Frog International or one of our distributors.

Server

    • 10 Mb/s network connection or better
    • 130 MB of free hard drive space for The Digital Frog 2 application and media

Client Machines

    • 68030 processor or better
    • 8 MB RAM
    • 2 MB free hard drive space
    • System 7.0 or better
    • Screen capable of 640 x 480, 256 colors

Troubleshooting

The program says it cannot not find SoundLib.
SoundLib is the Sound Library portion of QuickTime 3. Run the QuickTime 3 installer included on the CD, which installs all of the necessary files.


The program says it cannot not find QuickTimeLib.
QuickTime is running low on memory. Turn off all unnecessary extensions and lower the application memory to 900K less than the remaining RAM (which is usually around 5000K). To do this, click on The Digital Frog 2 program icon to select it. Choose "Get Info" from the File menu and change "Preferred Size" to 5000K.


The program runs fine, but the text isn't formatting properly.
The fonts Helvetica or Times may be corrupted or not installed on your computer. Both are required for the proper running of The Digital Frog 2. To fix the problem, simply re-install the fonts from your original system disk.


The numbering on the dissection crossword is all messed up.
On page 10 of the dissection section of the workbook, the numbers on the crossword do not match up with the clues at the bottom of the page. Below are corrected versions of the page in PDF format (which can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader). If you require versions in other formats (such as Adobe PageMaker or the graphic files), please email us and we will send them to you.

There is a factual problem with the Digestive System crossword
There is a factual error with one of the clues in the crossword in the Digestive System section. A replacement of page 6 with the error corrected is below in PDF format (readable with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is included on the CD or can be downloaded from Adobe's website).
