Installation

Installation instructions for The Digital Frog 2 can be found in the booklet that accompanies your copy of the CD-ROM.

Optimizing

The Digital Frog will work best on the Mac under the following conditions:

  • 8 MB of available RAM or more
  • Virtual Memory off
  • File sharing off
  • All extensions other than QuickTime off

Updating

The Digital Frog 2.1 can receive updates directly from the internet.

To ensure that you have the latest updates, make sure you have an active internet connection. Then, from within the application, select Web Update from the toolbar. Next, click on Synchronize. Updates, if any, will be downloaded automatically and placed in System folder:Preferences:cache-cache:The Digital Frog 2.1.

Networking

The Digital Frog 2 does not ship with a license to run on a network. A network license must be purchased from Digital Frog International or one of our distributors.

Server

    • 10 Mb/s network connection or better
    • 630 MB of free hard drive space for The Digital Frog 2.1 application and media

Client Machines

    • Power PC 180 or better
    • 30 MB RAM
    • 8 MB free hard drive space
    • System 8.6 or better
    • Screen capable of 640 x 480, thousands of colors

Troubleshooting

Running the program in OS X
The Digital Frog 2.1 will run under OS X in the Classic environment. Some users may occasionally experience a memory error associated with sound files when first running the program. Quitting out of the program and re-running it will usually correct this problem. If you do not have Classic (OS9) you can upgrade to The Digital Frog 2.5 (with proof of purchase) for only 35% of List. Contact us at sales@digitalfrog.com for help.

There is a factual problem with the Digestive System crossword
There is a factual error with one of the clues in the crossword in the Digestive System section. A replacement of page 6 with the error corrected is below in PDF format (readable with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is included on the CD or can be downloaded from Adobe's website). If you require the file in other formats (Word or Pagemaker), please contact us at support@digitalfrog.com and we can send them to you.
