The Digital Field Trip to The Rainforest 1.5 AT will work best on the Mac under the following conditions:

30 MB of available RAM or more
All other applications are off
Virtual Memory is off
File sharing is off
All extensions other than QuickTime are off

The Digital Field Trip to The Rainforest 1.5 AT can receive updates directly from the internet.

To ensure that you have the latest updates, make sure you have an active internet connection. Then, from within the application, click on Internet update, then on Synchronize. Updates, if any, will be downloaded automatically and placed in your System folder:Preferences:cache-cache:The Rainforest AT. Click on Continue to return to the program. Updates are automatically incorporated into the program.

Energy Saver & Sleep Modes
We strongly recommend that you disable any screen & hard drive "sleep" or "energy saver" modes on your computer, as these will cause problems with the program. If you computer does "sleep" while using the Rainforest AT, you may have to restart the program.

Running the program in OS X
The Digital Field Trip to The Rainforest AT 1.5 will run in OS X in the Classic environment. Some users may occasionally experience a memory error associated with sound files when first running the program. Quitting out of the program and re-running it will usually correct this problem.

The system's built-in screen zooming does not work with The Digital Field Trip to The Rainforest AT 1.5. This is a known-issue with OS X that affects all applications that run in Classic.

The Digital Field Trip to The Rainforest AT 1.5 was designed to run at a screen resolution of 640 x 480. To use the program full-screen, you may need to change the screen resolution. With OS 9 or earlier, this can be done in the "Monitors" control panel. In OS X, go to the "Displays" control in the System Preferences, which can be found in the Apple menu.
